Designated Area Migration Agreement between the Commonwealth Government and the Regional DAMA Areas to enable employers to sponsor skilled overseas workers, for positions that they are unable to fill with local workers.


DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreements) represents a unique category within the TSS Employer Sponsored Visa (Subclass 482). These visas were designed to address the workforce needs of specific regional areas by facilitating the recruitment of essential employees to fill various roles. It's important to emphasize that, despite being under the DAMA framework, individuals must still have an employer nominate them for a specific occupation to be eligible to apply for this visa.


 

Benefits of getting a sponsorship froma DAMA area

  1. potentially provide a viable option for applicants who may exceed the age limits for Permanent Residency (PR) eligibility through standard visa pathways. Some get sponsorship even when they are more than 45 years old.

  2. offers a pathway to PR through employer sponsorship, even when an applicant's occupation is not on the list

  3. some occupations donnot need an english test

  4. some occupations donnot need to earn more than $70,000 per year
