This visas lets a child inside or outside Australia move to Australia to live with their parents. The child must be a dependent child of a parent who is an Australian citizen, eligible New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent visa (for Subclass 101 or 802 visa); or the child must be the child of parents who are waiting for their Partner Visa to get approved (Subclass 445 visa)

Subclass 101: Child Visa (Apply in Australia)
With this visa, the child can

work and study in Australia
enrol Australia's public healthcare scheme, Medicare
sponsor relatives to come to Australia
apply for Australian citizenship, if eligible
Travel to and from Australia for 5 years
The child can travel to and from Australia as many times as they want for 5 years from the date we grant this visa. This is as long as the travel facility of this visa remains valid.
How long the child can stay
This is a permanent visa. It lets the child stay in Australia indefinitely.

The child must be inside Australia when the application is submitted.

Can range between 5 months and 19 months depending upon if all the requirements are complete, if the form is filled incorrectly and the right amount of visa was paid.

Subclass 445 Dependent Child Visa
With this visa, the child can
move to or stay in Australia until their parent's permanent Partner visa application has been decided
travel to and from Australia
work and study in Australia
Once the child has been granted this visa, they must apply to be added to their parent's permanent Partner visa application. When an application to add the child to their parent's permanent Partner visa application has been submitted, the child can enrol in Australia's public healthcare scheme, Medicare.
How long the child can stay
This is a temporary visa and it starts on the date the visa is granted. It lets the child stay in Australia until the partner visa of the parent is decided.

Citizenship by Descent
The child may apply for Australian citizenship by descent instead of a visa to travel to Australia, if:
the child was born outside Australia
one of their parents was an Australian citizen at the time of their child’s birth.
